This year we are going to have two separate and complete match play tournaments - scratch and full handicap. The net "full handicap" tournament will be based on 100% of your Jayhawk Golf Club Handicap. The scratch tournament, everyone plays at scratch. There will be weekly revisions for the handicap tournament, so your handicap could move in either direction. The consolation or "loser's" bracket will be developed after the first round has been completed using the same pairing format. We will have an updated handicap sheet that will clearly show the current handicap for all players. We will post new handicap sheets every Monday throughout the tournament time frame.
If player (A) has a handicap of 14 and player (B) has a handicap of 10 the procedure would be to subtract the difference between the two: 14-10 = 4 strokes that player (A) would receive. He would receive those four strokes on the number 1, 2, 3, and 4 handicap holes.
The fee has been set at $80 for the event, $50 for Alvamar Country Club members and Employees. The $80/$50 include all greens throughout the event. A cart fee will be charged if you take a cart while playing your match outside of men's club. In hopes of increasing overall participation, if you want to enter both Net and Gross tournaments we offer the following discounts - $120 for regular members and $80 for Employees/ACC members gets you into both sides of the match play tournament! Weekend matches played outside of men's club events must be played after 11:00 am. If you want to play a match during a normal weekend men's club event you must pay your normal fees.
You are responsible for making your own tee times and setting up your own matches. A list of player telephone numbers and match play handicaps will be put up along with the brackets.
Limited deviation from the posted play dates will be allowed. Remember, unless an extension is sought and granted, deviations past the
"play by" dates can result in forfeiture. To avoid extensions we will try to provide a time frame that allows up to 3 weekends to complete
each tournament round.
