JAYHAWK Handicap Method with Equitable Stroke
Control
In response to our membership calling for a more dynamic handicap that
more closely resembles their "current" ability and the potential
misuse of the USGA handicap system in our weekly events, we
now employ a "jayhawk club scores only" method as a means to adjust
handicaps and protect the field. It is those men's club scores, and
those scores only that will be used to formulate the alternative
handicap. Our program automatically uses USGA equitable stroke
controls. All
you do is turn in your scores as you have in the past. Our new system
uses an 8 score rotation as opposed to the old 20 score rotation. This
makes for a much more dynamic handicap that
more accurately reflects your current trend.
The procedure for the alternative Jayhawk handicap is as follows:
Jayhawk Handicap Methodology
If you have an existing ghin index we use it until you have recorded
four scores in men's club.
Once you have recorded four scores in men's club we use the jayhawk
golf club method below:
4 scores: handicap based on your lowest two scores.
5-7 scores: handicap based on lowest three scores.
8 scores: handicap based on lowest four scores.
