Equitable Stroke Control

adjusting scores
Equitable Stroke Control (ESC) keeps an exceptionally bad hole from changing your Handicap Index too much. Equitable Stoke Control sets a maximum number that a player can post on any hole depending on the player's Course Handicap. For Handicap purposes , you are required to adjust your hole scores (actual or probable) when they are higher than your maximum number you can post. There is no limit to the number of holes on which you can adjust your score. When establishing a handicap do not use equitable stroke until you have a handicap listed on the card, from then on use Equitable Stroke Control. Once you have an established handicap use the following chart to adjust your scores, until you have an established handicap simply record scores without the adjustment.

EQUITABLE STROKE PROCEDURE
18 hole course handicap, Max strokes allowed on any hole:
9 or less = Double bogey
10-19 = 7 max
20-29 =  8 max
30-39 = 9 max
40+ = 10 max
Note it is course handicap NOT index. After conversion one will use chart above.
TOURNAMENT SCORES:
We are changing the designation of T-scores to include only our match play, stroke play and any other event we "designate" as an official tournament. Regular skins games outings will no longer be considered Tournaments and thus no longer require you to post them as T-scores. Once you have established a handicap and you have received your official GHIN number for identification, you can periodically check your handicap index via the world-wide web at  Ghin.com .
